Tim & Eddie's 60 mile Channel crossing, Alderney to Weymouth.

60 mile cross channel by Kayak, Alderney to Weymouth. · 1 April 2021
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the best day weather-wise we can find in mid May we will set off in our 2 single sea kayaks from Alderney and paddle across the English Channel to Weymouth Harbour. The route is 55 miles in a straight line but paddling through 3 changes of tide we will be zig-zagged about 65 to 70 miles during our crossing. We aim to complete the crossing in approximately 18 hrs and will have to paddle in some hours of darkness. We are very grateful to be piloted by Nick Wedgwood in his 57' ketch Willowtarn, escorting us safely across.
We will set a target of raising £2000 for Weldmar but will hopefully smash that with your help.
In 2014 I completed my first full Ironman distance triathlon, The Weymouth Challenge, with Eddie's help to improve my swimming
