Those who know me know that I am a gentleman who enjoys a drink - and usually more than one!  I have made the decision, however, to shun the demon drink for the entirety of January for what I think is a truly amazing cause - the PDSA.

Back in November, my parent's 18 month old Border Collie, Holly, was rushed to the Leicester branch of the PDSA.  It transpired that Holly was suffering from acute peritonitis, and her chances of survival at the time were sadly very low, perhaps only 1 in 10.  However, thanks to the tireless efforts of the staff, 3 life-saving operations, and a great deal of love and care, Holly pulled through - she is now back in the family home, recuperating and getting back to being her usual, lively self!

The PDSA do incredible work, providing veterinary services for those who would normally struggle to afford what can often be very expensive pet medical care.  For those eligible; treatment is free, and all that is asked is a donation of whatever the owner can afford.  Any and all money raised goes back into helping animals - what's not to love about that?

As stated, I am a man who thoroughly enjoys a drink - so not enjoying a few glasses of wine after a hard day at work (or even a lazy day at home!) will be a real challenge.  Thankfully, I have some amazing support - my mother, and my sister and her boyfriend will all be joining me for a very sober January!  I also hope I can count on your support - any donation will be gratefully received, and given to an amazing charity.  Don't forget to tick the gift aid box, to enhance your donation even further!
