Story

Hi everyone.

I know this is short notice... however I am taking on the challenge of the Three Peaks to raise much needed funds for the Countess of Chester's BABYGROW APPEAL.

Those that know me, know that I have taken part in a number of charity events over the last 10 years. However this has always been for much larger, better known charities. I am competing mainly to raise money, but also awareness for a charity very personal to me and my family.

Here is why...

My wife and I have been blessed with identical twin boys. Identical twin pregnancies involve a number of additional complications on top of a normal single pregnancy. The hospital monitored and measured the boys twice a week from the moment we knew there was two! At 34 weeks twin to twin transfusion syndrome or TTTS had been diagnosed. This, if left to continue would be life threatening to one or both babies. As a result the next day the boys were brought into the world, one happy to here, kicking and screaming, the other not so. Charlie only spent 24 hours under the care of the Neonatal team. Albeit a short time, I could see the dedication and love this amazing department deliver to the new born babies and the families alike. Speaking with other mummies and daddies in the unit it was obvious that the devotion and kindness of staff meant so much.

Please help them continue this incredible life saving/preserving work.

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH - LOTS OF LOVE 'THE CAPPERS'
