Story

Today you’d be struggling to find someone who hasn’t been impacted by cancer in their lifetime. This will be my fourth October trying to raise funds for Macmillan as my life has been turned inside out since losing my mum, my best friend.  I’ve given up alcohol, I’ve walked the miles, I’ve given up coffee … and quite frankly I didn’t think I could top that!

Enter Toni’s water phobia. I’ve been afraid of water for as long as I can remember.  Sometimes I can’t even look at the sea or the swimming pool without sweaty palms and a racing heart … even just thinking about it now is unpleasant but I guess that’s nothing compared to those who live with cancer and the lives of their loved ones. If I can step out of my comfort zone (you’ll be lucky to get me out my car to be honest) and raise anything to help macmillan support those who’s lives are impacted by cancer daily then it’ll be worth it. So here we have it, a dip a day, 31 days of cold water. I will get into the sea (or an ice bath on the logistically difficult days) every day in October, come rain or shine. Send help, send love, send cash!

Thanks for supporting my fundraising. Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure.
