'I am a 76 year old father and grandfather and my family are my life. I feel very fortunate that I was born and have lived all my life In a stable background where my family have been able to thrive in safety. 

I have often seen news footage of families from war torn countries having to flee from conflict, leaving everything they owned just to try to stay alive. They have had to endure great hardships and terrible dangers, the like of which I cannot begin to imagine to try to reach an environment that I have been able to take for granted all my life. 

I have always felt utterly helpless to be able to do anything to help their cause until I heard about this charity. If by using the treadmills, the rowing machines and the bikes at my local gym to cover a distance of 200 miles in 40 days, I can raise funds to help turn around their lives then I will feel a little less helpless.
