Story
Thank you for your interest in our Tandem Trip to cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats (LEJOG) that we did in September 2016.
Update: It is now the end of March and we can hardly believe it is almost six months since we finished cycling our Tandem from the length of Britain from Lands End to John O’Groats, or “LEJOG” as it is affectionately known. A total of 1141.1 miles over 19 days, which averages 60 miles per cycling day. And what an adventure it was! - we loved it! It certainly makes us feel alive and thoroughly enjoyed noticing how our countryside changed as we cycled from South to North - did you know that Scotland doesn’t have hawthorn (the arch enemy of cycle tyres!) in their hedges. We did get through three tyres, had four punctures, and some of the days took a lot longer than expected, but we were blessed with meeting lovely people who helped us along the way and (believe it or not) great weather!!! We camped, B&B’d and stayed with old friends, including some from when we were in Pokhara with INF 17 years ago. When folk asked “are you raising money for charity?” we naturally wanted to support the work of INF in Nepal - one pound for every mile, which includes our ‘scenic routes’! There are still a few ‘miles’ left so if you would like to give to this then feel free - it would be great to hit the target.
So until the next adventure... Many thanks! Carl & Alison
Why INF?
When we have told friends about our adventure many have asked if we are going to do it for charity. So we have decided to raise funds for the work of the International Nepal Fellowship (INF), an organisation close to our heart that does fantastic Health and Community Development work in Nepal and more recently provided relief to those affected by the earthquakes in Nepal.
