Toyota Oaks 2016 - BH2LM · 20 May 2016

We're here to bridge the gap between needing Mental Health support due to a devastating Duchenne diagnosis and accessing the NHS services families facing Duchenne need. Therapy empowers families to navigate the complexities of DMD with a greater sense of understanding and emotional well-being.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Toyota Oaks are the Toyota GB staff that organise and participate in a multiday cycle ride on an annual basis to raise funds for a worthwhile charity that means something to one of us or is close to our community.

2016 is our 5th year and 22 staff ably supported by 6 staff in the support cars, will be riding from our head office in Surrey to Le Mans, home of the famous 24hr race. The purpose is to raise funds for a locally based charity called Harrison's Fund.

Harrison's Fund has one goal - To get as much money into the hands of the world's best researchers who are working to find a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

It sounds like a horrible disease, and it is.

The facts about Duchenne are inescapable:

-Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is 100% fatal
-Most kids with it die in their late teens/early 20's
-Most with it are usually in a wheelchair by the age of 12
-It leads to respiratory failure, heart failure and other debilitating orthopaedic complaints
