The Christie charity is aiming to raise £23 million for the proposed construction of a new centre in Macclesfield where Christie patients will be able to receive outstanding cancer care, closer to home.

I am employee of The Christie and a resident of Macclesfield county and I am passionate about ensuring the NHS delivers the best care for everyone all of the time to reduce health inqualities and provide equitable access.  Having a Cancer Centre in Macclesfield will provide care closer to home for patients reducing the burden of travelling to the main Christie site.  This will then release capacity on the Christie site to treat more patients that require specialist treatment in the centre.   

I have also been personally impacted by Cancer with my dad  having terminal cancer which was treated at The Christie..  The care and treatment he received provided him and the family with a further 18 months of quality of life to which we are internally grateful.
