Story
I'm taking part in the March Dog Walking Challenge to support families facing dementia.
As some of you may know, my mum was diagnosed with Dementia and Alzheimer’s in 2018 whilst we were in the USA (one of the reasons we returned home) and whilst mum is doing well at home right now, we know it’s a battle that ultimately we, like all the other families dealing with this, can’t hope to win.
Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Their nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimers disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.
Please sponsor me (and Meg) as we walk in March to raise funds to help give support to all those battling this horrible disease.
Thank you.
