Vodafone employees are raising £1 million for Vodafone Foundation's Your Planet fund, to help restore the health of the world we live, love and breath. All money raised will support charities using conservation technology to protect our planet.

Story

Spoiler Alert; this is an EPIC CHALLENGE story!

Vodafone is committed to support our planet's ecological fronts against a worsening crisis.
SO ARE WE!

I am doing a 5 days bike ride, crossing the Alp's from Grenoble to Nice, an epic 518 km ride with around 13 km of climb. This is equivalent of climbing an Everest AND a Kilimanjaro! in 5 days! with a bike! I need your help in this challenge. Since this is essentially a pledge for our planet, the aim is to raise funds. Without the fundraising, your dearest friend Sanran won't be qualified to ride! Please help him! Please donate!

Of course You have more reasons to donate than just helping a guy make his dream come true!
If you are in the UK or EU, your donations can qualify for income tax deductions.
Besides, Vodafone Foundation will match your donations. So technically your impact will double up!

The money will directly go to the non-profits. No cuts! No fees! No tricks!

One of the two organizations is The Ocean Cleanup.
https://theoceancleanup.com

Ocean cleanup is the largest debris cleanup project on our planet. They have developed a self contained floating net which collects garbage in large patches while NOT entangling the wildlife!

OVER 5 TRILLION PIECES OF PLASTIC CURRENTLY LITTER THE OCEANS!
That is 5,000,000,000,000.
This is 1.5 times more than the number of fish in the world.

Trash accumulates in five ocean garbage patches. Floating plastics trapped in the patches will keep circulating until they break down into smaller and smaller pieces, becoming harder to clean up and increasingly easier to mistake for food by sealife. If left to circulate, the plastic will impact our ecosystems, health, and economies.

Microplastics are everywhere. Literally. We are breathing microplastics now. Yes, now! It is in fruits, salt, vegetables, in the ground water, in rain water and most significantly in the air as volatile compounds, mostly evaporated from the Oceans.

The second recipient of the donations is the Africa's Tusk Foundation.
https://tusk.org

Tusk foundation is working in four main fronts in order to protect the most iconic and endangered species... Protection of the animals, habitats, education of population and coexistence! The species at risk involve Elephants, Rhinos, Lions, Cheetahs, Pangolins, Zebras, Turtles, Vultures... Most of these iconic animals are key to an healthy habitat, which means if we fail to preserve them we risk collapsing habitats.

The donations will go 50/50 to the Ocean Cleanup and the Tusk Foundation. Which means, if you donate 50 Euros for my bike ride, Tusk Foundation will receive 50 Euros, and the Ocean Cleanup will receive another 50.
