Story
Those who know me are aware that I lost my beloved uncle this year to Dementia. 💔
Every three minutes, somebody in the UK is told they have dementia, it’s the biggest health and social care challenge we face. Alzheimer’s Society vow to help end the devastation caused by dementia, but they need help.
Alzheimer’s and Dementia impact not just those who suffer from these devastating diseases but also their families and close friends. I witnessed my uncle Don transform from a vibrant, kind, funny, generous and loving man, into someone who endured immense pain and suffering. As a family, we did everything we could to support him, often pushing ourselves to our limits 💙
We had external support, including day services and care, but there’s still so much more to be done to prevent or alleviate the suffering caused by this disease.
More funding means more research and that’s why I’m taking on the Trek26 Lake District Challenge—26 miles around Ullswater—to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society 🩵
I would be super grateful if anyone would kindly support me by making a donation on my page however small would be really appreciated 💕
Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today and by providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding ground-breaking research.
Thank you for choosing to trek for Alzheimer's Society, together we can be help and hope to everyone affected by dementia.
