Story
Mick and I are taking part in this 26 mile trek along the Suffolk coast in memory of Mick’s stepfather Dave, to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society.
Prior to this in June we will be tackling Ben Nevis so lots of walking coming up.
Dave was one of the gentlest, smiliest people you could meet ( as you can see from the photos) and whilst he remained that way for the most part, it was so sad to watch the Alzheimer's gradually take hold.
Dave's condition was also hard for Eve (Mick's Mum) as she became his full time carer and had to put her own life on hold (not that she would have had it any other way!).
Many of you will be familiar with our previous running events in aid of other charities but this time we thought we’d try something different. We are looking forward to the challenge and hope that with Dave in our thoughts we will remain as smiley as him for the whole 26 miles!
Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today and by providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding ground-breaking research.
Thank you for choosing to donate to Alzheimer's Society, together we can be help and hope to everyone affected by dementia.
