Story
I’ve decided to take on a 13 mile trek to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society.
This one is very personal. My mum has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, alongside vascular dementia, and it has been incredibly hard to process. There is no clear way to prepare for something like this. It has felt overwhelming at times, trying to understand what it means now and what it might look like in the future, while still holding on to normal moments together.
As a family, we are right at the start of this journey. There is a lot we do not yet know, but what is clear is how important support, awareness and research are. That is why raising money for Alzheimer’s Society feels so important. It is something practical I can do in the middle of something that often feels out of my control.
