White Collar Boxing · 30 October 2016

As the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people, we brighten the short lives of babies, children and young people who come to Rainbows. We want them to have fun and make special memories. We are also here to support their loved ones through the most difficult times of their lives.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

At the ripe old age of 44, I have decided to enter into a professionally organised boxing match which is being held at Loughborough Leisure Centre on 30th October. I will provide  timings in an update soon. Tickets will be available and some, not all of the cost will go to Rainbows. However, I appreciate not all of you will want to spend your Sunday afternoon watching a boxing match, albeit there is two ex world champions boxing a little while after me!. I have therefore set up this page to enable any of you kind folk that would like to donate to help me raise money. I do not know who I am boxing, as that will be organised by the event handlers.

It is important to state, I have never been to a boxing club before and will now over the next 2 and a half months be training hard to get fit and  be able to box. I am sure there are many of you that would like to see me being battered in the boxing ring, so please dig deep and donate, in the knowledge of my impending suffering.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

UPDATE: It is with great frustration that I write this update to tell all you kind people that the fight did not take place. Without giving names, due to the police involvement, the white collar boxing event did not happen after our trainer was brutally assaulted by the boxing promoter shortly after our weigh in. It is now planned that we will be doing a 50 round punch bag challenge soon instead and I will keep this site updated. thank you
