Story
Matt and Pops are taking on the massive challenge of a Disability Triathlon, for their 'TriAble' Campaign. They firmly believe that sport should be for everyone, irrespective of their physical abilities, and that sport should bring people together. To prove this, they are going to swim 750m in open water (Pops can't swim yet), cycle 20km on a tandem (so Matt can pull Pops along), and then run/roll a further 5km. Easy, huh?
In doing this, we are trying to raise awareness of, and funding for, the fantastic Action For Kids. As they explain it,
“Our vision is of a world where all people living with a disability get to lead the life they choose, just like their non disabled peers. Our mission is to enable as many young people with disabilities as possible the opportunity to work or volunteer in the community."
To achieve this, they provide mobility equipment to children and young adults with physical disabilities, and they provide training and work placements to young people with Special Educational Needs, to help them gain independence and hopefully, a job!
