Never Grow Up - Neverland themed charity event
Rebekah Ridge is raising money for Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity
Story
A few months ago, a very special young lady called Naomi had an idea. She runs the popular blog 'Trips with a Tot' and was in the process of organising and running her 2nd year of Sheffield For Kids Awards and thought, how amazing would a Sheffield for kids party be?
Friends, family and volunteers helping her with the awards asked the same thing… will there be a ceremony? An awards party? That would be so cool!
At first she thought, that would be amazing; but certainly way out of my league.
But, big things come from very small beginnings.
Ideas changed from a ceremony to more of a general Sheffield kids party… but something to celebrate all the amazing things we have to do here, the best groups, classes, play centres, local small businesses, charities, etc. I envisioned an event that would welcome all families in Sheffield regardless of age of child and budget to enjoy a free day out and coming together to say “wow, how good is all of this and how lucky we are to have this in our city”
Over night the event idea BOOMED!
Naomi asked me to team up with her as I have previously organised family themed charity events and currently hosts bespoke kids parties at the weekends!
We chose a charity that related to our event: Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity. It made sense to fundraise for a children's charity helping to support those children who may never experience the activities and entertainment that is included in our event. I personally have so much to thank them for as a mum of one and know of many other kiddies who have been helped by them so we wanted to give something back to say thank you and hopefully raise enough money to provide treatment or a comfortable environment for whoever needs it.
