Northumberland Coast Mighty Hike

Northumberland Coast Mighty Hike 2024 - full marathon · 14 September 2024 ·
NEW UPDATE 💚💚💚💚
We did it - all 26.21 miles of the Mighty Hike. Such an emotional experience from start to finish and I know Jules was with us throughout. From the rainbow appearing over Alnwick Castle at the beginning to the sun bursting through the clouds at the finish line. Yes it was a physical challenge and never felt pain like it in my legs especially my hip but everything we went through is nothing compared to what Jules went through so that was our motivation to push through to the end. Eternally grateful to all our friends and family who supported us throughout and were there at the finish to cheer us home. It has to be my biggest achievement to date and so grateful I got to do it with the best people ; Ali, Lucy & Caroline - Truby’s Troopers. So many memories made to last a lifetime. Thank you to each and everyone who has donated- your generosity and kindness is overwhelming. 💋🙏🏻
****UPDATE****💔💔💔
It is with the greatest regret and sadness I have to advise Jules passed away on Monday 1st July in Marie Curie hospice Newcastle with her family by her side. We are all absolutely devastated and heartbroken that she was taken far too soon. The world has lost the most beautiful soul inside and out and there will forever be a Jules shaped hole in my heart. I’d kept Jules up to date with all the amazing fundraising and donations from everyone which she was very touched by. She said her only regret was that she wouldn’t be here in person to watch us cross the finish line - I told her we will be carrying her in our hearts every step of the way. Forever missed and never to be replaced 💔💔 Her favourite phrase to use with me was Tits & Teeth all the way Darling !!! I promise to never forget your wise words Jules, I’m forever grateful you were a major part of my life . Xxx
At Christmas we received the devastating news that one of my BFF’s the beautiful, one of a kind, caring Jules (Julie Truby) was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Since that diagnosis she has been the bravest person I know and continues to be so selfless in trying every treatment available to try to buy valuable precious time despite these treatments taking such a toll on her.
Therefore I have joined forces with Lucy McMillan, Caroline Hogg
and Ali Flint and we’ve called ourselves Truby’s Troopers.
On 14th September 2024, we are taking on a Mighty Hike along the beautiful Northumberland coastline to raise money for people living with cancer.
I have pledged to raise £250 and would appreciate any support in reaching this. By fundraising my pledge, I could pay for a Macmillan Support Worker for two days who could provide emotional, practical and financial advice to someone affected by cancer.
