The Sowenna Appeal is raising money for equipment and therapeutic programmes that go above what the NHS provides, to aid activities which will have a positive impact on the health, wellbeing and recovery of children and young people in Cornwall.

Story

We are seven friends from Truro High School who have decided to challenge ourselves to run 140 kilometres over the next fortnight to raise as much money as we can for the Sowenna Appeal.

Many people are finding lockdown a particularly tough time, so we wanted to support young people our age who are struggling with their mental health.  The Sowenna Appeal funds equipment and lots of extras that the NHS can't afford at a specialist young people's mental health unit in Bodmin.  We have chosen to run 140 kilometres between us as our school is 140 years old this year so it seemed like a fitting way to celebrate that as well as help others.

Thank you for supporting us.

Kitty, Edie, Sophie, Emily, Hermione, Naomi and Bella.
