Truro School Boarders: Paris to London (bike, swim/row and run) · 9 February 2019

ShelterBox work to ensure that vulnerable families around the world have life-saving emergency shelter, and other essential tools and aid items, after disaster strikes. Be it an earthquake, flood, conflict or hurricane, we are there for those most in need.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Right now, around 85 million people around the world have been made homeless by natural disaster and conflict. ShelterBox are working to change this.

By providing emergency shelter and tools for families robbed of their homes by disaster, ShelterBox is transforming despair into hope.

ShelterBox is impatient to see a world where no family is left without shelter. Are you?

At Truro School we are committed to supporting local charities and it is a privilege to raise money for ShelterBox. The boarding community, who have in the past raised money for Macmillan Cancer Support and Children's Hospice South West are excited to launch this years new challenge and to raise money for ShelterBox.

On Saturday 9th February the four boarding houses will come together to collectively travel the 455km from Paris to London. Each boarder will aim to cycle 6km, swim/row 600m and run 2.5km; although I imagine there may be some pooling of talents and switching of disciplines on the day. Nevertheless, the fifty boarders and staff are dedicated to covering the distance and to raising as much money as possible for ShelterBox.
