Bulgaria Vulnerable Youth Football Project · 13 May 2013

We’re an anti-poverty charity & community of food banks, working together to ensure no one in the UK needs a food bank, while providing practical support for people left without enough money. (Please note we're unable to forward funds onto individual food banks, funds raised here go to Trussell)

Story

This summer a self-funded team from the UK is getting together with Bulgarian staff and volunteers from The Trussell Trust's partner organisation, FSCI, to deliver a football-based project in Boychinovtsi Youth Prison. As well as football there will be personal development sessions aimed at showing the young inmates (overwhelmingly Roma) that there are alternatives to a life of crime. During the same week we will also be bringing all the young people who are currently residents in our House of Opportunity Programme together (for the first time); helping them to develop friendships and working with them as they travel the path to independence from state care.

Will you help us to cover the non-UK team costs of this project?

Any donations made through this JustGiving page will only be used to help pay for our young House of Opportunity residents’ food and accommodation. £25 will pay for one young person to enjoy a day’s stay with the team.

Thank you.
