Hey Gorgeous People,
Starting on the 24th of February at 6:00am from the University of Kent Canterbury Campus team I.K.S shall be embarking on our 36 hour adventure as far across the globe as possible with absolutely zero funds. With some thoughtful preparation a little luck and some lateral thinking we hope to not only have the trip of a lifetime but also raise as much money as possible for the ever prevalent Syrian Refugee Crisis and assist UNHCR in continuing their life changing work.
With Syria’s war well into its seventh year, the number of Syrian children forced to flee their homeland as refugees will reach 13.5 million today. This is a real child ripped from home, maybe even from a family, facing horrors we can only begin to comprehend. We should stop and ask ourselves how, in all conscience, we can continue to fail the children of Syria.
With the money we raise we have chosen to support UNHCR, also known as the UN refugee agency which has the international agenda to protect refugees and resolve refugee problems worldwide. Its primary purpose is to safeguard the rights and well-being of refugees. It strives to ensure that everyone can exercise the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another State, with the option to return home voluntarily, integrate locally or to resettle in a third country.
