Story

The charity.

https://www.facebook.com/upaf500

Cornerstone provides a range of services to individuals with a
variety of needs. These include learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism and dementia. Cornerstone provide this support to people of all ages from child to adult to elderly.

The challenge.

In an effort to support this fantastic charity a group of friends that are either members of the Urban Pirates MCC or associates/friends are challenging ourselves to complete a trip around the NC500. Unfortunately this is going to be made a little harder by the stipulations we have to stick to. Most people taking on this route that crosses some of Scotland's higher mountain passes and steep single track roads do it for pleasure on big bikes or in comfortable cars.

We however have been set a set of rules and an extended route that we must stick to.

The rules.

Eight days, Departing from and returning to Aberdeen resulting in an average of nearly 100 miles a day. Doesn't sound like much but to make it a challenge we are restricted to bikes with a maximum value of £400, maximum engine size of 125cc and they must be of a step through scooter design.

We will also be camping all but one night along the route so will need to carry tents, clothing, supplies etc along with some of our “bodyweights excessive for the power of the bikes
going uphill”

This will no doubt cause breakdowns and additional challenges along the route but we fully intend to put our maximum effort into completing this challenge and supporting Cornerstone along the way.

Special mention.

We would like to express our gratitude to all the hard working people at ecosse motorcycles.

They have agreed to support us by “offering all participants a free oil and filter service plus a comprehensive check over for safety on the bikes.” They have also offered to see what they can do to help with any necessary work required on the bikes.

With this support we should at least be able to get over the start line. Thank you ecosse.
