Story

Dear Friends and Supporters,
Join our team effort to help the most vulnerable children in Ukraine to participate in an educational and social support programme where they will learn vital skills for the future, see a different better world outside of their very difficult environment, get medical help and have a happy childhood.

It’s estimated that 1.7 million children in Ukraine are in danger because of the continuing conflict in eastern Ukraine, which has destroyed or disrupted essential infrastructure and basic services, leaving affected populations vulnerable and in need of urgent support. Civilian safety remains a serious concern, and 68,000 children have been internally displaced as a result of the hostilities, placing those children in danger of violence and disease,  disrupting access to essential medicines, health facilities and education. (UNICEF)

We invite you to contribute towards an educational and social support programme, which will take place during the summer of 2017. The programme will provide kids with:

  1. An educational programme to learn skills which will help them in their future life (English classes, introduction to different professions)
  2. Social and cultural activities (drama workshops, music and art lessons, sports activities)
  3. Medical examination and therapy when needed.

Our project will involve children who are most affected by the military conflict and the economic downturn from orphanages, centres for internally displaced people, schools in the conflict-affected areas, as well as kids who have had a parent die or get injured in the conflict.
The programme will be implemented in partnership with the educational initiative GoCamp (http://gocamps.com.ua/en), other charity organisations and similar initiatives.

The main goal of the GoCamp programme is to educate a new young generation of active and conscious citizens of Ukraine, capable of lifelong learning, and prepared for the challenges of the 21st century, fluent in foreign languages and open to other cultures and experiences.

Donation of 10 pounds will pay for a volunteer to teach one kid in a group at their home village or town for 3 weeks, with just a 100-pounds donation, we can send one kid from a conflict zone on a 2-week educational programme including social, cultural activities, medical examination and wellness care, and with 1000 pounds we can bring international volunteers and organise a 3-week English learning after-school camp for 100 kids at their school.

We are very happy to inform you that this fundraising is enhanced by the newly launched Community Initiative of our employer, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, that aims to double the amount raised, subject to minimum EUR3,000 and maximum EUR50,000 raised and number of reporting requirements fulfilled.
So every donation you make to our project will be doubled and twice more kids will be involved!

Fundraising for this programme, we will significantly expand the number of the most vulnerable kids who are involved and educated.

We very much invite your support and donations and believe that supporting our kids we make the world better & happier!
