At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit the Remembering Carmen Dixon Justgiving page.

After living with a very rare neurological condition, Stiff Person Syndrome, tragically our lovely sister Carmen passed away on 3 July 2022 - just five days before her birthday. As many of you know, Carmen was always a ‘force of nature’ and never let the condition dictate her life or define who she was. She was the most authentic and funny personality.

Given the rarity of her condition, it was Carmen’s last wish to donate her body to medical science so current and future medical teams can understand more about Stiff Person Syndrome. We are delighted that her legacy will live on in the education and training of future doctors.

This charity page is to celebrate Carmen’s nobility, resilience, and generosity. In her remembrance,  family and friends can donate in lieu of flowers to a cause she cared about greatly - combatting dementia. Donating is simple, fast and totally secure; and your personal details are safe with JustGiving. Your donation goes directly to Alzheimer’s Society.

Please give generously for every laugh she prompted or shared with you, so it can benefit others. You’re amazing - Thanks so much for being United For Carmen!
