Story
The University of Birmingham Boat Club have organised a challenge involving 100 athletes from different sports clubs from the University competing to see who can race across the world first. This involves 4 teams (Superior Vena Strava, The Devil Wears Strava, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Stravagirl and Patatas Stravas) going head to head to see who can cover the most distance of the Earths circumference in 80 days. This will see each athlete complete a minimum of 35 km a week any way they like- running, walking, cycling, rowing, anything!
There is a winner for who covers the most distance, but this is also a competition in raising money too. Each team has their own charity they are raising money for and the team who raises the most, wins!
The Adventures of Sharkboy and Stravagirl are raising money for the Trussell Trust: a nationwide network of food banks which provide emergency food and support to people locked in poverty. In the current climate it is more important than ever to support them and to try to give as much as we can to help them with the fantastic work that they do. Any size donation would be greatly appreciated so let’s try and raise as much as we can!
Weekly updates will be posted on each teams JustGiving page so if you want to keep up to date with how the challenge is going then stay tunes
Thank you!
