I am the queen of impulse decisions. Some of them are terrible but most of them turn out to be great. I'm 50/50 as to which this is gonna be, but I'm going to risk those odds and face two (three if you count Death By Floor)of my biggest fears: planes and heights. OK, four of my biggest fears. I forgot Falling Downwards.

Yesterday I saw a Facebook post from Stonewall asking for people to do a skydive for their Jump For Equality event. Before I knew it, I was automatically filling in the application form and asking my dad to lend me the deposit (thanks Dad!) so I could do something which I would never before have called a Sensible Idea. The more I thought about the intolerance I'd seen and experienced, the more it seemed like a fantastic idea. 

Stonewall is a charity that is very close to my heart as a member of the LGBT+ community and also because I have so many beautiful and wonderful friends, both in the LGBT+ community and as allies. Equality is such a crucial issue and the work that Stonewall does in education, politics, research, human rights and diversity championship is super important.

So yeah, I'm jumping out of a freaking aeroplane for myself, for my friends and for anyone who has ever experienced intolerance based on their gender identity or sexual orientation. You're all pretty perfect the way you are.

PS: This is a really big deal. Some of you reading this will know that I have had some pretty sucky issues with my mental health for the last 6 years. Last week I got discharged from the Mental Health Services and this is the first massive jump into Not Letting My Past Spoil My Present.

Bring. It. On.

PPS: Oh yeah, and my mum's going to do it too. Mostly because someone is gonna need to push me out of the plane and I'd rather it was someone I loved enough to not punch afterwards. Also, cause she's mega brave and super rad.
