Vikki's MomentouS MileStone Head Shave

My MomentouS MileStone Head Shave · 25 April 2019
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page today.
For those of you who don’t know, here is the background behind My MomentouS MileStone Head Shave.
Twenty years ago, in 1999, at the age of just 26, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (which literally means ‘many scars’)
MS is an incurable disease of the central nervous system which can affect people in many different ways on a daily basis. These can include mobility problems, chronic pain, spasms, fatigue numbness and speech & swallowing difficulties. Suddenly, with my whole life ahead of me, the future looked uncertain...
Fast forward twenty years and with the constant love and support of my family and friends, here I am, battle-scarred from my fight with this disease, but here none the less; living life a day at a time and trying to enjoy each moment.
As I ‘celebrate’ my twentieth year since my diagnosis, I wanted to give something back and so have decided to raise money for the MS Trust. They are a charity who work tirelessly to support those people living with or affected in some way by MS. I can’t run a marathon or trek up a mountain, so I have decided to have my head shaved instead!
Please support me in giving what you can. Every penny raised will go to the MS Trust to help fund research, train specialist nurses, provide much needed information over the phone or through the post and simply to support those whose lives are touched in some way by this disease.
I'm doing my head-shave on Thursday April 25th, during MS Awareness Week (22nd-28th April 2019). I thought this would be an appropriate time to get involved and raise much needed funds for the MS Trust.
Thank you for helping. It means so much to me.
