I'm running a half marathon in memory of my partner Matthew Griffiths who was diagnosed with terminal cancer and died two and a half years later at the age of 47.  Matt was one of the most beautiful people I've ever met.  He loved his life, his family, and his friends.  His illness meant that he was in constant pain but he never complained,  he never gave up, and he fought all the way.  In the end his poor body just couldn't take any more and I lost him.  

Garden House Hospice managed Matt's pain so that he could stay at home and be as comfortable as possible.  The care they gave was quite simply extraordinary.  At the worst time in our lives, they helped us maintain some semblance of control, and enabled us to spend more time together.  I will never forget that, and I know it is not something that I can ever repay.  The hospice, like all charities, is struggling at the moment, and any money raised will be put to good use.  We are so very lucky to have such an amazing place on our doorstep.  Please give what you can, no matter how small, and help them to continue their incredible work.
