Welcome!

This is the home of an amazing group of people, who have come together to form a virtual fat club on Facebook. It was formed by a fat guy called Ryan, a proud husband and father, who has recently travelled a long a winding road of cancer diagnosis, surgery, radio and ongoing medical treatment, which in turn damaged his heart function and endocrine system, but thank God, a cancer survivor at this point. This coupled with being an emotional eater saw his weight balloon (again!). He has previously lost over 100lbs for charity raising thousands of pounds, but following another significant bump in the road with his health, saw his weight increase again. During the summer, Ryan's daughter, Sophia, decided of her own volition to start fundraising for Give kids the world, at her primary school summer fair, a charity she had learned about through her dad and Disney podcasts. She very successfully raised a substantial amount and the Pearse family had the honour of visiting GKTW to hand over Sophia's donation. Whilst there they met with Pamela Landwirth, GKTW CEO, as well as the team responsible for volunteering and fundraising. They had an awe inspiring half day tour of the village, seeing the amazing families, volunteers, staff, facilities, entertainment, accommodation and so much more. They left with the clear determination to raise more for this great charity. 

GKTW is a village resort  near to Disney world, Florida, especially for critically ill kiddies who make a wish to visit central florida theme parks. It is a chance for them, with their families, to have an all expenses paid trip with enormous amounts of support. They even get to celebrate the big occasions of Christmas etc with their families all in the one week they are there. It is the most magical environment you could ever imagine, the volunteers and staff are truly amazing and the resort so warm and welcoming. They take families from all over the world with very poorly kiddies. 

The Virtual Fat Club hope to raise as much cash as possible during their weight loss journey,  helping to make sure these kids get their wishes granted and that these brave and worthy families get the opportunity to make very special and lasting memories.
