Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Visir and I began our partnership only a short time ago in October 2010 when I rode him on an Icelandic training course. Needless to say we became instantly close and we formed a bond strong enough that I then bought him. Unfortunately a few weeks later Visir became very lame and was diagnosed with winter laminitis. I never thought for a minute that this would turn out to be so bad and I would be left several weeks later without him in my life. He never improved over of weeks, had rotation of his pedal bones in both front feet and was then tested positive with slight EMS.
Visir was a very special horse who had been heavily involved in the Icelandic displays at various events across Scotland. He was very choosy who he let into his life and I feel very honoured that I was one of the very few people he allowed to get close to him. He taught me alot over my short time with him and I feel I at least should honour his memory in some way.
It therefore seems only fitting that I try and raise some money for other horses around the world who are ill or are suffering in some way. Hopefully it will also help raise awareness and help ongoing reseach into finding out exactly what causes laminitus. This is a horrible disease that causes terrible pain and suffering.
So please dig deep and donate now.
