We alleviate the impact of child poverty to help children reach their full potential

Story

Donating meals to London's vulnerable children.
Despite being one of the richest cities in the world, over 700,000 of London's children are living in poverty - that's 37% of all of the kids in the capital.

Here at VoucherCodes we want to do our bit to help, so this Christmas, we've teamed up with The Childhood Trust to help bring hot, nutritious meals to some of London's most disadvantaged and vulnerable children over the festive period.

How you can help this Christmas!

Our aim is to provide 20,000 hot, wholesome meals for children living in poverty in London. The more donations that are recieved, the more we can donate to the Childhood Trust fund.

Your support this Christmas will make the world of difference to a child in need.

About the Childhood Trust
The Childhood Trust works with children and young people of school age (4-18) in communities across London. They support grassroots and local organisations, engaging children from the poorest communities to help provide much needed practical, emotional and inspirational support.

Most of the projects they support deliver services that are vital to the children who need them. These include services such as; mentoring, hot meals, social work referrals and liaison, educational support, counselling, sports activities, arts and cultural activities and many other forms of support.

Child food poverty in London
It is estimated that each day, 82,000 children in London are not getting enough to eat. Food poverty can ruin a child's life - affecting their physical and mental health and holding a child back from achieving their full potential. The Childhood Trust research last Christmas found that 25% (6,297) of the 25,190 children supported by one of their projects said that they would go hungry over the Christmas period.

Research from The Greater London Authority (GLA 2013 ) found that:
- 3 in 10 parents (30%) in London reported that in the last year they have bought less fruit and vegetables on at least a monthly basis due to the expenses

- 9% of children living in poverty say they sometimes or often go to bed hungry

- For 1 in 10 children, school lunch is their biggest meal of the day
