Story
WHFS works to end Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and support women affected by this harmful and illegal practice.
WHFS
is pressing for more preventative awareness programmes,
to stop the dangerous practice of FGM, and for the development of specialist
services to support women already affected.
Marking International Women’s Day by raising funds for WHFS will help to:
- Support the costs of a dedicated FGM
Project Co-ordinator.
- Recruit local women volunteers who have already been affected by FGM.
- Train the volunteers to become FGM Peer Supporters.
- Enable Peer Supporters to engage the community in preventative awareness and offer advice and support to women already affected by FGM.
- Continue WHFS’s vital campaigning role as a grass-roots organisation, able to voice the issues of, and engage with, local FGM affected communities.
Thank you for supporting this vital work.
