We bring together world-class specialists in heart and lung medicine with the funding, resources and opportunities they need to drive medical progress, and improve the lives of patients everywhere. Together, we can transform heart & lung health and change lives.

Story

After suffering end-stage heart failure at the end of 2015, Tom Peach, brother-law of wtf1’s founder, Tommy, received emergency surgery at Harefield Hospital to fit a machine that acted as an artificial heart. He spent Christmas that year in Intensive Care.

In January 2019, and just a month after he and his wife announced they were having a baby, Tom’s health worsened and he was taken in for a full heart transplant. Tom saw this as his best chance to return to living a normal life with his family but it also came with massive risks.

Sadly, there were major complications following the surgery and after 10 days in critical care, he passed away on Valentine’s Day, 2019. He leaves behind his wife, Gina, and their daughter, who was born 8th August 2019.

Despite everything life threw at him, Tom always remained positive. He was a wtf1 super-fan and was hugely proud of everything we were achieving.

With this in mind, and to honour his memory, we are dedicating our 2nd Annual wtf1 Grand Prix at Buckmore Park on Saturday 10th August to raise money in his name.

Without Harefield Hospital we wouldn’t have had Tom in our lives for the last three years.
