This charity is very close to our hearts as many of you know our close friends Kerry and Patrick had a son four years ago who was born with primordial dwarfism. Primordial Dwarfism is a rare form of extreme proportionate short stature, many of the people affected being referred to as the smallest people in the world. He is now one of 7 children in the world to be diagnosed with MOPD xrcc4. These children are incredibly courageous and brave. Currently 4 years of age Patrick stands at 2foot 6 inches tall and is 14lbs in weight. To put this into more imaginable terms he currently wears age 6-9/9-12 months clothes.
Walking with Giants Foundation has enabled Patrick , along with Kerry and partner Pat, to meet other families affected by PD and share their experiences. It become evident that meeting other PD families is so beneficial, when after the first convention that patrick attended, he started walking. Kerry ,Pat and Patrick have been through a lot and with the Walking with Giants Foundation they now have the support that they need and all of their lives can be enriched, even more so than it has been by having Patrick and there 1yr old daughter Evelyn. This charity holds conventions a couple of times a year and get specialist doctors in from the states to help give the families affected much needed help advice and support. They also pay for a whole week of activities and enable the parents to have some much needed respite time for themselves.

This charity receive NO government funding at all and is not overly known to people so does really appreciate all the help and support they do receive :).
