Wakefield Memory Walk · 19 May 2019

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

A dedicated team of registered Wakefield volunteers for Alzheimer's Society, including myself, is organising a Wakefield Memory Walk at the start of Dementia Action Week.

We have met many wonderful people through our volunteering role who are living with dementia every single day. Many of us are/have been carers and understand first hand how dementia devastates lives, both of the person themselves and of their families. This is our inspiration.

Wakefield Memory Walk - being opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Wakefield, Councillor Stuart Heptinstall and Miss Charlotte Heptinstall.

Sunday, 19th May, 2019, 11.00am at Pugneys Country Park, Wakefield.

We are issuing an invitation to everyone in the Wakefield district to join us for a wonderful walk around the lake at Pugneys Country Park together with family and friends, to remember loved ones who are no longer with us, to celebrate everyone who has been affected by dementia and to raise vital funds for Alzheimer's Society. Please help us to raise as much as we can to help support everyone affected by dementia.
