Story

I am fundraising once again, but this time it's for a serious issue which affects so many friends, family and loved ones. h

I have seen for myself how victims of sexual abuse have been affected and experience unpleasant reoccurring trauma, which has been heartbreaking to experience. It brings shame and guilt onto victims. Furthermore it's a scary place and coming forward and reporting it isn't easy.

I have spoken to Gloucestershire Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre and they have a wonderful support support system and offer many services to those affected. Whether if the abuse happened a week ago or decades ago, it's for anyone who's been affected. They offer therapeutic and group support which I strongly believe in to begin the healing process and restore empowerment within those that is already there! Sexual abuse doesn't just affect victims, it affects their loved ones and friends witnessing the trauma.

I am a Father to 3 Daughters who I would like to see grow as empowered women, and to feel safe and secure. I will always do my very best for them, as promised, and this is one of many things I do.

I think we should all join together as a community to speak out and prevent it. Support, education and awareness are the three very important elements in that prevention.

NOTE: I have yet to decide a fundraising challenge, and so I will reach out with family and friends to see what they suggest. I have a few ideas. I may do multiple challenges or events.
