Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm joining Parkinson's UK Kilimanjaro trek Team, with two friends (Dawn Painter and John St John Mosse) in Oct 2011.

Mount Kilimanjaro lies just south of the equator in north eastern Tanzania. Its singular snowcapped mass soars above the Massai steppe. It is an outstanding landmark being one of the world's largest active volcanoes and the tallest free standing peak in the World at 5,895 m.

Our challange is to follow the Rongai route over 7 days, generally treking 7 to 8 hours per day and 14+ hours on summit day. Needless to say we've commenced training which will step up as our leave date becomes more imminent.

We have chosen this charity for a variety of reasons, and are particularly focused as one of our team members is a sufferer of this disease.

I would be extremely grateful for any contributions via my Justgiving page to the charity who:

Network Carers and Families/ Provide Information and Training/  Campaign to Change Attitudes/ Lead Research towards Cure
