I am running in this year's London Marathon trying to raise money for the South Coast branch of the OPA. This charity helps patients who have oesophageal (or gastric) cancer and their carers, by providing support and helping them to achieve a good quality of life.

Following her operation for oesophageal cancer in May 2008 my Mum has been the driving force in setting up this branch of the OPA for the South Coast area.

This is the first (and last!) Marathon I will be running and I am hoping to raise funds for this much needed support group. I will be running the 26.2 miles in celebration of my brave Mum and in support of my Uncle who is currently undergoing treatment for the same type of cancer - its a charity very close to my heart.
