Story
I'm William. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am 7 and I will be dancing in a competition - Junior Strictly Inverness- with my partner Caitlin on May 12th to raise money for the Highland Hospice. We will be competing against 8 other couples aged from 6 -12 in the big ice rink building in Inverness. There might be up to 500 people coming to watch! The evening is a family event, and I would love as many friends and family as possible to come along and enjoy the evening (and vote for us!). You will be able to watch the junior competition, join in some dance moves with our dance instructor Tristian, see some performances from some dance schools, and see the group dance from the adult competition which they are doing as a dress rehearsal for their big event. (And you'll be able to vote for us). We are having 10 weeks of training starting on the 19th February - Mum and Dad will be doing a lot of driving into Inverness! Watch out for news of how things are progressing on the Highland News. I will put a photo on this page as soon as I can.
If you can't come to the competition and vote (so many of our friends live miles and miles away), would you like to support me and Highland Hospice by helping me reach my sponsorship target of £100? I am hoping either 50 friends and family might each give just £2 on this site, or 100 people will put one pound in my collecting box to help make a difference. Highland hospice look after people who haven't got very long to live. It costs £42000 per week to provide their 10 bed hospital and day unit, and they help lots of people in the highlands when they need it most. You can find out about Highland Hospice on www.highlandhospice.org.

Update 4/4/2011 Wow, what a lot of money we raised together. I'm saying a big thank you to everyone who has already helped leave my target way behind. We are still working hard, although we have now changed to dancing the cha cha. Three weeks off for Easter and then its the countdown to the big event!
UPDATE ************************
Its all over. What a brilliant night. We got all dressed up and watched all the people come in to watch - there were over 500 people. There were lots of lights and photographers and 4 scary judges. We watched some dance school performances, and the Mums and Dads joining in a participation dance, and then we were on. Everyone got through their dance and the audience screamed and clapped and cheered through it all. I went wrong a bit but hopefully no-one noticed as I smiled as hard as I could. everyone was calling me Smiler. We waited for the judges and they each gave us a score of 7 and said some nice things. Then there was an interval and the audience voted. The audience vote was added to the judges scores. Andrew and zara won the competition and got a cup and a rosette. Then we all had our photo taken again. I was really tired......
The 3 days (including the grown ups) raised £46000 and the sponsor money hasn't been counted yet!
So thanks so much to all my lovely sponsors, and hope you enjoy looking at my photos. xxxxxxx
