William Stanways junior parkrun fundraising for the NHS

William Stanways junior parkrun fundraising for the NHS · 19 April 2020
Thanks for taking the time to visit ‘William Stanways junior parkrun fundraising for the NHS’ page.
William Stanway from Sale Harriers wanted to raise money for the NHS, he realised it had to be something on his doorstep and within his allowed exercise time. So he went to where his running started 3 years ago, at his local very hilly Whaley Bridge junior parkrun. Whilst still 14 he wanted to do a fast time, so his Mum and Dad said they would sponsor him £50 for every second he took off the previous fastest time. So he took a stop watch, his Garmin and parents to record his time which was 6mins 39secs, with it being 14 seconds quicker it created £700 for the NHS.
William invites other parkrunners/runners and members of the public to donate through this page.
He hopes this will encourage others to exercise locally only once daily and welcomes to share this with them in having a run or walk (timed or not) any time of any day and donate £1 (or more) to the NHS. This has also been done with Whaley Bridge junior parkruns blessing.
