Several members of our society are taking part in a sponsored silence in order to raise money for the British Deaf Association. The BDA are a charity who seek equality, access and freedom of choice for deaf people. Their major goal is the legal recognition of both British and Irish Sign Language (BSL and ISL).

This involves making no sound at all during University hours and finding other means of communication including British Sign Language, but also mini-whiteboards! This silence will be between one and three days depending on the individual. Thank you so much for your consideration!
