We’re the world’s leading independent conservation organisation. And we’re building a future where people and nature thrive together. That’s why we’re passionate about sharing the planet’s resources more sustainably, tackling climate change and protecting endangered wildlife.

Story

It’s the first time I’ve done fundraising for WWF, but I’m increasingly persuaded that now is a really important time for us all to make changes to our pattern of life in order to safeguard the future of the Earth for others. WWF do great work around the world to protect environments, animals and humans and to help to ensure the Earth can provide a sustainable long-term future for all inhabitants. Some other thoughts I had:

  • Animals didn’t do nothing to nobody (seagull chippy attacks and jellyfish stings excluded);
  • Yet humans push animals towards extinction in sea, in air and on land and continue to pollute and destroy their habitats;
  • We’d all like to protect endangered animals so that future generations can enjoy their company in the world too (how great would it be to still have woolly mammoths strolling about, if we hadn’t hunted them to extinction?)
  • As Mr Attenborough said, we need to act now to avoid a climate catastrophe for the planet and its animal inhabitants.

Individually it’s hard to make a difference in global climate change and protection of endangered species, but I hope that my suffering through 100 saddle-sore miles might raise a small amount of awareness for WWF and the great work they do around the world.

Any amount of donation you can spare would be greatly appreciated by both myself and WWF and will help them to continue on their mission.

Thank you!
