I'm running the 2024 London Marathon for Team Breathe

London Marathon 2024 · 21 April 2024 ·
Since I was very young I’ve been learning to live with my asthma and small lungs; I’ve taken a variety of coloured inhalers over the years, had steroid tablets and nebulisers. During my early teenage years my lungs threw another curveball my way and I fought off viral pneumonia which was really great when starting secondary school and dealing with all the fun of a new environment and friends while coughing everywhere!
I realised that exercise was a great way to help manage my lungs, general health and stress levels. More recently my mum has had some lung health problems which together with my own experiences has led me to sign up to run the 2024 London marathon for Asthma and Lung UK to raise some money for this charity and to set myself (and my lungs) a new exercise goal!
This is a big challenge for me, I have only ever ran a half marathon previously during lockdown, so this is a big step up and requires dedication, training and most of all patience (not my strongest attribute!) as I know it is going to take time to complete.
I would really appreciate any support big or small that you could provide please to support this cause which is so close to my heart and affects so many. 1 in 5 of us will have a lung condition during our lifetime. There is a new diagnosis every minute.
Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UKs nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice.
I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!
