Hello!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my Wizzy Bristol Half page! Yes thats right, on the 15th September, I will be running (hopefully!) The Bristol Half Marathon for Designbility, who specialise in providing powered wheelchairs 'Wizzy Bugs' for the under 5's.

The NHS has no funding for powered wheelchairs in the Under 5's and therefore they have been a godsend to us with their loan scheme.

They provide Wizzy for just a small deposit to children with little or no independent mobility for a period of around 30 months. Noah's world came to life when he recieved the gift of his Wizzy Bug at just 18 months old. Now 4 1/2 he will soon be coming to the end of his Wizzy journey but thanks to Designability he has learnt vital skills that have formed such a strong foundation for his future life as a full time wheelchair user.

There is something surreal about seeing a little one as young and as small as Noah was when he first recieved Wizzy able to control with accuracy a powered chair. However, it is this early intervention that we believe is so key. It becomes 'normal' for them and gives them the freedom to explore that they would not otherwise have. This means they can access the same opportunities as their peers which is crucial for all around development.

Wizzy has given Noah the absoloute best start and now it is time to give something back to Designability. Each chair costs the charity £4,750 to fund. So far they have made 400 Wizzy Bugs and supported over 600 children...but they want to help more! And they can't do that without your support.

I am taking on this huge personal challenge, in my son's very own hometown, and it would be awesome if some funds could be raised as a result, to help more children, just like Noah!

Please help me give other children the chance to see the world from a different perspective.
