#850StepChallenge

#850StepChallenge · 1 March 2021 to 31 March 2021 ·
My grandfather died of polycystic kidney disease in his early 50s when I was 1 year old, and my father went on a dialysis machine at 40. I also have this disease, and now have 50% kidney function. There are currently 850 million people worldwide living with kidney disease. It is very sad that the treatment for this is more or less the same as it was 2 generations ago, and so this is why I'm joining this effort to help end kidney disease by completing the #850StepChallenge for World Kidney Day. I'll be completing 8500 steps a day every day throughout March for World Kidney Day. With kidney disease now being the 10th top cause of death globally, Kidney Research UK has never been more important. Kidney disease is incredibly debilitating, and with a 50% chance of passing it on to every child, also affects people’s decisions with regards to having their own biological children. Research is key to transforming kidney health and support is crucial to make this happen. Please donate whatever you can, every £ will help to keep research going and help kidney patients, like my dad now, and me in the future.
