In 2010 I ran the Bath Half for the first time and amazed myself by getting round in 2 hours 17 minutes. It's high time I tried to improve on this, and to spur me on I've joined the S & C Thermofluids Corporate Challenge team, running to celebrate the company's 30th Birthday! In 2007 S&C's team managed to finish 15th out of 34 teams competing. Can we do as well this year...?
I'm fundraising to do my bit to save the planet as well. My chosen charity is the World Land Trust - it would be amazing if I could raise £500, which is enough to buy 5 acres of rainforest and wildlife habitat. And every £5 over this target will plant a tree in that forest.
World Land Trust (WLT) is an international conservation charity, which protects the world’s most biologically important and threatened habitats acre by acre. Since its foundation in 1989, WLT has funded partner organisations around the world to create reserves, and give permanent protection to habitats and wildlife. They also provide individuals and organisations the opportunity to offset their residual greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) through the protection and restoration of carbon-rich wildlife habitats in the tropics.
