Twas the night before Christmas and all around the house nothing was stirring not even a mouse. The heating was off, the cupboards were bare, the corner was empty, no Christmas tree there. The child was sobbing and felt all alone, wondering why Santa had forgotten their home... BUT the Night Before Christmas Campaign didn't forget anyone.  I work with the Family Nurse Partnership, we are a service dedicated to supporting first time young parents and their families aged 19 and under. For the past 2 years, the NB4CC, an Ayrshire based charity,  have ensured our clients and their babies have received special gifts on Christmas Eve.  Each bag has been lovingly created for specific age ranges and are full of gifts and treats.  We have made over 200 referrals for the past 2 years for our babies and toddlers.  Not only did we received gifts for the children, but gifts were included for the mums too.  Delivering these gifts to our clients was extremely humbling.  Not only did it highlight the need for support, especially at Christmas time, but it made me realise how amazing The Night Before Christmas Campaign is.  The work the team put into fundraising for vulnerable people at Christmas is phenomenal.  They said to me recently 'Christmas should be magical for all and we are pleased to be part of helping to spread Christmas cheer'

I have to do something to give back to this amazing charity so, a few of our Family Nurses, supervisors and myself are walking The Big Stroll, 14.3 miles with the Glasgow Kilt Walk on April 30th.  The money we raise will go directly to the Night Before Christmas Campaign and will help the hard working Elves there to buy much needed warm pajama's, toys, toiletries and sweet treats for the thousands of referrals they will receive this Christmas 2023.  I know its a very difficult time for families just now so please know, your contribution, will be greatly appreciated and I will train my butt off to ensure I complete the 14.3 mile walk on April 30th.
