The 21st Ayrshire Scout Group, based in Kilmarnock, was formed in 1919 and remains one of the largest and longest running groups in the region. The group relies wholly on fundraising to continue to deliver a varied and exciting programme of activities for young people. Our volunteers dedicate their time to develop young people with skills for life. We encourage social interaction, wellbeing, teamwork, resilience and develop the leaders for the future. These skills are key for a successful personal and professional life ahead

Myself and my trusted friend marianne are raising funds to help the 21st Ayrshire scouts group  that was my grand parents passion and where they met and fell in love . My grandfather sandy bigger was a legendary figure within the group building up the group, taking young people camping and teaching exiting new skills .My gran  Helen biggar was involved with the beavers and dedicating her Spare time along with my grandfather to the scout movement . Unfortunately sandy my grandfather  was killed in a tragic accident and my gran was left widowed at an early age of 30 . The scout movement was an phenomenal support  for my gran and she continued to support her husbands passion to the 21st scouts untill she died herself at the great age of 89 years young . My gran walked the west Highland way herself many times camping along the way of course ...and she loved to tell me about her experience.

Our mission is to help start fundraising for the group while we are in such difficult times and the group have not been able to raise funds over the pandemic . By raising funds I can help secure my families legacy and feel that I have helped to keep the 21st Ayrshire group moving forward .
