Alder Hey Children’s Charity raises funds towards the pioneering work at Alder Hey. Your support ensures the 450,000 children we see each year will have access to the best facilities and equipment, and that the benefits of our innovating work are felt by families throughout the world #JoinUsJoinIn

Story

My close friend's son Cameron has been diagnosed with Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumour (DSRCT). This is a very rare condition and affects 2-3 people per 500,000 people in the World.

His condition was so severe that Chemotherapy Treatment was started immediately.  He has undergone his first session of Chemotherapy and is battling this horrible disease.

He is being cared for at Alder Hey Children's Trust, this place is truly amazing and he is in the hands of some truly amazing doctors.

I am looking to raise £1000 now as the target I had previously was beat within 48 hours and this will be donated to the

Alder Hey Children's Charity.

What are they doing:

Alder Hey Children’s Charity is urgently raising £30m for life-saving medical equipment, research and facilities to make the New Alder Hey in the Park a truly world leading place for families across the UK.

Your support helps fund life-saving equipment and pioneering research, as well as a whole range of things like crayons and paints so we can give patients the best possible experience.

Your support makes a remarkable difference

They need to raise £30m:

  • For clinical teams: The best operating theatre technology, critical care cots and medical scanning equipment in the world, plus groundbreaking research programmes
  • For families: Special parent beds with storage so mum or dad can sleep next to their child overnight, arts and crafts to encourage children’s creative sides and relieve boredom, plus enhanced gardens and play areas
  • For young patients: Bedrooms with interactive TV’s and adjustable mood lighting, plus a virtual hospital world where patients can tour Alder Hey and create their own cartoon characters
  • For teenage patients: Film and craft materials so teenagers can be creative and learn new skills, a ‘treehouse’ area designed so patients can relax, read or play games
