A campaign to spread awareness on how fireworks can affect dogs and their well-being. · 25 September 2021

Stokenchurch dog rescue was originally formed by local residents in 1963 to save the lives of stray and unwanted dogs. We never destroy a healthy dog, believing that somewhere there is a kind and permanent home for every dog. We also take in and care for the sick, the old and the traumatised.

Story

"I am looking to raise money to support - Stokenchurch Dog Rescue
from the sale of my book -
NO FIREWORKS, PLEASE. For your kind donation, I will send you a PDF of my book straight to your mailbox."

Around 45% of dogs have a firework phobia, something that is becoming an increasingly serious welfare concern.

The message I want to deliver through my book is that Fireworks need to be controlled!

As the fireworks season is approaching, I am running a campaign to spread awareness on how fireworks can affect dogs and their well-being. I have written a book- NO FIREWORKS, PLEASE and the story has emerged from my personal experience. I have a dog called Barney, who is terribly scared of fireworks. He will not go on walks if he hears any loud bangs. It is difficult to see him struggle as he would not eat or drink properly and sit in a corner for hours. This prompted me to write the story. And it's not just Barney, but millions of dogs like him suffer anxiety because of our ignorant and irresponsible behaviour. The reaction of dogs to the sound of fireworks is indeed like post-traumatic stress in humans.

Would you please support me in raising awareness on this critical issue and contributing positively to give our furry friends a happy, healthy life?

Support my endeavour by sharing my story and purchasing the book.
